Cursurile de limba ceha / Learning Czech

Ahoj!

Ahoj! I had my first Czech lessons. It is held by a Christian organization, I think, therefore, it is for free. It lasts 1 hour and a half, without any breaks. I left the course with a huge headache, incapable of saying anything for more than one hour (and that, for me, is a lot of time without talking).

At the first class, there was a boy from Nigeria and me. Of course I explained that I was not actually a beginner, since I already knew 2 essential words: "pivo" (that is "beer") and "na zdravi!" (that is "cheers!"). The boy from Nigeria also knew 1 word in Czech: "holka" (which means "girl"). Well, can't comment on people's preferences, right?

The effort was worth it though, now I can say Hello! to people in Czech, I know how to say "I don't speak Czech", I can ask "Do you speak English?", I know how many beers to order in pubs, and I would say that for my first week here in the Czech Republic, that should be enough. And because I am a diligent learner, I also bought 2 beginners' books for a better learning. All I need now is a lot of patience because Czech seems to be a language very difficult to learn .
